ENVE M640 Rim

ENVE M640 Rim

Designed without limitations, the ENVE M640 rim is ready to be built into the definitive 27.5 or 29er trail bike wheelset for 2.8 to 3.2" tyres.

ENVE products have been used to gain more than 80 DH World Cup wins and podiums and with the M6 series, the US brand has taken this race-winning technology and honed it for trail riding.

Wide, strong and light, the M6 series has been created for riders who demand uncompromised acceleration on the climbs backed up with class-leading control and impact absorption on descents.

Available in 27.5 or 29" sizes, the M6 series offers three width options – 30, 35 and 40mm – for tailored performance no matter your tyre preference. The M640 features an internal rim width of 40mm – perfect for riders who favour 2.8 to 3.2" tyres and are seeking maximum traction and the plushest ride.

Across the M Series wheel range, ENVE has prioritised improving the ride experience through applying its carbon expertise towards eliminating the dreaded pinch flat.

With the M640, ENVE's Dynamic Impact Design means a V-shaped rim profile paired with the brand's patented Wide Hookless Bead design. This exclusive teardrop-shaped leading edge absorbs energy for rim protection and disperses impact force for tyre protection – reducing the chance of snakebite flats or impact damage from big hits. Compared to the previous generation, the M6 series has tested with a 30% increase in impact toughness and 60% more flat resistance.

This technology unleashes your speed by retiring worries about pinch flats for maximum confidence no matter how technical a trail you take on. The high-volume tubeless design allows you to run your chosen tyres at lower pressures for maximum traction and added compliance. All this means you go faster, with improved control and ride feel, for less effort while also unlocking the full potential of your performance trail bike.

As with all ENVE's rims, the M640 is handmade from raw uni-directional carbon fibre at ENVE HQ in Utah, USA, giving control over every aspect of production. The M640's carbon laminate has been tuned for a smoother ride that improves tracking, control and compliance while reducing fatigue. These characteristics are all the more impressive given a possible sub-1,550g wheelset weight.

The bespoke construction process also utilises patented moulded spoke holes, removable bladders for weight-saving precision and a gorgeous paint-free finish to further reduce weight while maintaining strength, stiffness and allowing the beautiful handmade quality to shine through.
