The 42|49 SL is the wheel for "Race Day, Every Day." It balances the aerodynamic stability required for fast group rides and breakaways with a weight profile usually reserved for shallow climbing rims. The 42mm front rim is designed with a wider, blunted profile (34.4mm external) to ensure the bike remains stable in crosswinds, while the 49mm rear rim is narrower and deeper to minimise drag where the airflow is more turbulent.

Precision Engineering from Germany

The heart of this wheelset is the Tune Pico hubset. Machined from 7075-T6 aluminium in Buggingen, Germany, these hubs were specifically designed to align with the unique offset and ERD of Reserve's SL rims. This alignment allows the Vonoa carbon spokes to run in a perfectly straight line, maximising energy transfer and eliminating the fatigue points found in traditional steel-spoke J-bend designs.
