The Shimano XT 11-Speed Linkglide (LG) Upgrade Kit remains the definitive choice for e-bike riders who value drivetrain longevity over shaving grams. While the 12-speed Hyperglide+ systems are built for racing speed, the Linkglide ecosystem is engineered specifically to handle the high-torque demands of mid-drive motors (like the Bosch Performance CX or Shimano EP801) without the "crunch" or premature wear associated with traditional drivetrains.

The Shimano XT Linkglide Kit is built for "The Long Haul." Designed to be three times more durable than standard Hyperglide systems, Linkglide features a unique tooth profile and shifting gates that are significantly thicker and taller. This design allows the chain to move smoothly between cogs even while the motor is providing maximum assistance, virtually eliminating "pedal shock."

Engineered for Electric Power

The latest XT Linkglide kit introduces Impact Recovery technology to the XT rear derailleur, a feature derived from the professional Di2 range that allows the derailleur to "flex" during a rock strike before snapping back into alignment. For riders using Shimano EP801 or EP6 drive units, this kit is fully compatible with Auto Shift and Free Shift modes when paired with the Di2 variant.
