The Zipp 303 XPLR SW is the flagship version of Zipp's ultra-wide gravel racing line. While the "S" model focuses on value, the SW represents the "Super-Wide" performance pinnacle, featuring an advanced carbon layup, Zipp's signature aerodynamic dimpling, and premium German-engineered hubs.
It is designed with a singular mission: to be the fastest gravel wheel in the world by aerodynamically integrating a 40mm–45mm tyre into a massive 32mm internal rim profile.
The 303 XPLR SW is built around Zipp's Total System Efficiency (TSE). By using a rim that is nearly as wide as the tyre itself, Zipp has effectively created a "combined airfoil" that maintains airflow attachment far longer than traditional gravel rims. The SW version adds several key performance layers that distinguish it from the standard "S" model
ABLC Dimpling: The SW rim features Zipp’s iconic Sawtooth/ABLC dimples. These micro-depressions create a thin, turbulent boundary layer of air that allows the airflow to remain "stuck" to the rim, significantly reducing aerodynamic drag in real-world wind conditions.
ZR1 Hubset: Engineered in Germany, these hubs feature a 6-pawl leaf spring design that provides 66 points of engagement (5.45-degree). This near-instant pick-up is a major upgrade for technical gravel climbs and sprinting out of tight corners.
Sapim CX-Ray Spokes: To save weight and add a touch more compliance, the SW build uses the industry-leading CX-Ray bladed spokes, paired with aluminium nipples to keep the rotational weight at an absolute minimum.
Optimised for High Volume: The 32mm internal width is designed specifically for tyres between 40mm and 60mm. This wide stance provides massive lateral support, allowing you to run pressures as low as 20psi--25psi without the tyre rolling off the rim.
Hookless Tech: Designed strictly for Tubeless-Ready (TLR) tyres. Always check Zipp's official compatibility list (e.g., Zipp/Goodyear XPLR, Schwalbe G-One RS, etc.).
Featherweight Aero: Despite the massive 54mm depth and 40mm external width, the wheelset weighs just 1,452g.
Unmatched Stability: The deep section is surprisingly resistant to crosswinds thanks to its rounded profile, making it a "fit-and-forget" wheel for all weather.
Lifetime Warranty: Zipp offers a full lifetime warranty for the original owner, covering impact damage during normal gravel use.
