Hope Carbon Crankset (MTB)
The Hope Carbon Crankset is designed for the rider who wants a high-stiffness, low-weight setup without sacrificing the impact resistance required for rocky descents. Like the RX version, it is hand-laid in Barnoldswick, UK, but uses a different carbon layup and a more robust internal structure to pass the stringent EFBE Tri-Test for gravity-oriented mountain biking.
The crank arms feature a proprietary internal structural foam core and a 1K outer carbon weave that resists "delamination" from rock strikes. It utilises the same 30mm 7075 aluminium spindle architecture as Hope's alloy Evo cranks, making it one of the stiffest interfaces on the market for maximum power transfer when sprinting out of corners.
Evo's take:
The Hope Carbon Crankset (often referred to as the Evo Carbon) is the heavy-duty, mountain bike-specific counterpart to the RX model we just discussed. While the RX is tailored for gravel and road, the standard Carbon Crank is built to withstand the rigours of Enduro and All-Mountain riding, featuring a much burlier construction while still offering the weight benefits of carbon fiber
Gravity Rated: Unlike the RX, this model is fully tested and approved for Enduro and All-Mountain use.
1K Carbon Weave: A premium aesthetic finish that provides additional abrasion resistance against shoe rub and trail debris.
30mm Spline Interface: Features Hope’s proprietary expanded spline design for a rock-solid, creak-free connection to chainrings.
Replaceable Pedal Inserts: High-strength steel inserts keep your pedals secure and prevent threads from stripping, even after multiple swaps.
Customisable Hardware: Match your bike with anodised self-extracting bolts available in all six signature Hope colours.
