Ibis Oso TR | Bosch CX Gen 5 | 150mm - The "All-Day" E-MTB
The Oso TR is built on the same unified chassis as the HD and S models, utilizing a modular clevis and shock configuration to deliver its 150mm of rear wheel travel. It features a 64° head angle in the TR configuration, providing a balanced, intuitive feel that is stable at speed but agile enough for tight, technical singletrack. By utilizing the new 600Wh battery, Ibis has lowered the centre of gravity significantly, making this the most "nimble" of the new Oso range.
The "PowerMore" Strategy: Since the internal 600Wh battery is lighter and lower, we recommend keeping the 250Wh extender in your pack or at the trailhead for "big days." This keeps the bike feeling like a nimble trail bike 90% of the time, only adding the extra weight when you truly need the 850Wh capacity.
Serviceability: The modular nature means you can switch your TR into an HD (165mm travel) by swapping the clevis and shock, making this a frame that can evolve if your local terrain gets gnarlier.
EVO Opinion:
The Ibis Oso TR (Trail) is the "Goldilocks" model of the new 2026 modular Oso platform. While the HD is a dedicated gravity enduro machine and the S is a lightweight sprinter, the TR sits in the middle with 150mm of rear travel and a 160mm fork, designed as an all-day trail companion that balances pedalling efficiency with big-mountain capability.
DW-Link Kinematics: The suspension platform is specifically tuned for e-MTB torque, providing an anti-squat characteristic that allows you to pedal through technical, rocky climbs without the rear end wallowing or hanging up.
Future-Proofing: Uses a standard ZS56 headset that allows for internal light cable routing and massive bearing durability.
