Nobl TR45+ (Legacy Plus Rim)

The TR45+ is arguably the toughest rim Nobl ever produced. By using a hybrid single-wall design, Nobl was able to concentrate extra carbon reinforcement in the spoke bed and sidewalls—areas where traditional double-wall rims often fail under heavy impact. With a massive 38m internal width, it provides a stable, "non-squirmy" platform for Plus-sized tyres and aggressive "Wide Trail" (2.5" -- 2.6") rubber.

Engineered Resilience

The TR45+ was developed over years of prototyping to solve the "lateral stiffness" issues common in early single-wall carbon rims. The result is a profile that tracks with pinpoint accuracy but remains radially compliant enough to absorb the massive forces generated by 2.8" tyres. In your shop, this is the rim for the rider who has a "destructor" reputation or for the custom e-bike build that needs a "forever" wheelset.

Performance Insight: Why the TR45+ over the TR41?

The TR41 is the modern successor—it uses the "Sinewave" box-section design and is slightly more "traditional" in its ride feel. The TR45+ remains the choice for the "Plus" purist. Because it is shallower 16mm vs 21mm, the TR45+ offers a more damped, "grounded" feel that many riders prefer when running 2.8" tyres on chunky, technical terrain.

Custom Shop Build Note

For the TR45+, we recommend a "Bombproof" build spec:

Hub Pairing: We suggest the Hope Pro 5 E-Bike hubs for this rim. The steel freehub and high engagement match the "unbreakable" ethos of the TR45+ perfectly.
Spoke Spec: Sapim Race or DT Competition (2.0/1.8/2.0) are mandatory here. We do not recommend bladed or ultra-light spokes for this rim, as it deserves a high-tension, heavy-duty build.
The "Mullet" Option: The TR45+ is an exceptional choice for a 27.5" rear wheel on a mullet E-bike setup, providing a massive contact patch and extreme impact protection.
