The U.P. 2.0 follows the iconic original U.P. that defined modern gravel bikes in the past ten years. With even crisper handling and more tire clearance (up to 46mm true width), it is ready for every adventure from fast group rides to tough bikepacking trips. But most of all, it is for riders who love the freedom of wherever the ride takes you.

The ultralight OPEN B.A.R. cockpit offers 15mm of micro-stem length adjustment in 5mm steps, while the size-specific design for frame & aero fork ensure the best experience regardless of rider height.

The CHASSIS includes frame, fork, headset, seatpost and the OPEN B.A.R. integrated one-piece bar/stem. The U.P. 2.0 ships from Mid September 2025 depending on your size. We can confirm this to you once we have determined your bar/stem dimension.

The Shimano GRX RX717 Di2 (1x12) is the "everyman's" electronic gravel groupset, launched in late 2025 as the more accessible sibling to the flagship RX827.

It is essentially a "remix" of Shimano's most reliable tech: the wireless shifting logic and levers from 105 Di2 paired with the rugged, clutch-equipped rear derailleur architecture of Deore Di2. It’s the perfect "privateer" setup—all the performance of the top tier, but with more durable materials that won't break the bank if you clip a rock in the Peak District.

For the 2025/2026 season, Open Cycles has introduced the OPEN B.A.R. (Break All Rules) cockpit. This is a one-piece integrated carbon bar and stem designed specifically for the new generation of U.P. 2.0 and U.P.P.E.R. 2.0 (including the limited CONCE.PT frames).

Historically, Open avoided integrated cockpits because they were difficult to fit and travel with. The B.A.R. solves this with a patented internal clamping system that allows for 15mm of stem length adjustment, meaning you can fine-tune your reach without bleeding your brakes or swapping bars.

The OPEN B.A.R. is a "closed-form" 100% carbon composite design. Unlike traditional integrated bars that use heavy metal inserts or vertical cuts for clamping bolts, the B.A.R. uses continuous carbon fibres throughout. This makes it exceptionally light and significantly more compliant, absorbing the "high-frequency buzz" typical of gravel surfaces.

The Patented Adjustment System

The genius of the B.A.R. is its internal slider clamp. Each bar size comes with a base stem length that can be adjusted forward or backward by 15mm in 5mm increments.

  • Fit Flexibility: You can change your position from "Aggressive/Aero" to "Upright/Adventure" in minutes.

  • Travel-Friendly: Because the adjustment often doesn't require undoing the hydraulic hoses, you can "shorten" the stem for packing the bike into a travel bag without a full mechanical tear-down.

It is specifically designed for high-performance road and "all-road" use where control and tactile feedback are the primary requirements.

The Solocush construction is a streamlined, single-layer cushioned platform.
