Industry Nine Hydra 2 DH System Wheelset
The Industry Nine Hydra 2 DH System is a masterpiece of vertical integration. By machining the hubs, spokes, and rims in-house, I9 has eliminated the traditional nipple/rim interface. The 7075-T6 aluminium spokes are significantly thicker than steel, providing a level of lateral stiffness that allows for "telepathic" line choice through rock gardens. For 2026, the move to the Hydra 2 platform ensures these wheels can handle the brutal torque of modern 120Nm e-bike motors.
Hollow Bead Wall Technology
The DH System wheels utilize the Grade 300 v2 rim. This rim features a Hollow Bead Wall, which effectively widens the "landing zone" of the rim edge. By nearly doubling the surface area of the bead, the rim is much less likely to cut through a tyre casing during a "bottom-out" hit, significantly reducing pinch flats without requiring heavy inserts.
The Industry Nine Hydra 2 DH System wheelset is the flagship alloy gravity wheel in the I9 range. Unlike the "S-Series" (which uses J-bend steel spokes), the System wheelset uses Industry Nine’s signature direct-thread aluminium spokes. These oversized, one-piece spokes thread directly into the hub shell, creating an incredibly stiff, responsive, and lightweight chassis that is specifically tuned for the high-impact world of World Cup Downhill and full-power E-MTB racing
Customsiation through Industry Nine's Anolab:
Black hub and spokes is the base price default, adding colours incurs upgrade costs.Simply go to the Anolab here and build your preferred wheelset. Add it to theIndustry Nine cart and it will tell you what Level of customisation it is (level1,2 or 3 - see below).

System Wheels have 3 levels of customisation:
Level 1 - Up to 8 spokes of a different colour
Level 2 - Any colour hub (instead of standard black) and as many matching spokes as you like (i.e any mix of black and the colour that matches the hubshell
Level 3 - Any mix of colour hub and spokes you like all the way up to rainbow pattern!
