Industry Nine Hydra 2 Enduro Alloy System Wheelset
The Hydra 2 Enduro Alloy System is Industry Nine's most popular wheel for "Big Mountain" and Enduro riding. Built with the Enduro 300 rim (formerly the EN305), this wheelset is designed to take the edge off rough trails while maintaining enough lateral stiffness for precise cornering. The latest model benefits from the Hydra 2 overhaul, focusing on making the hub "bombproof" for the most demanding riders.
Hollow Bead Wall & Hydra 2 Tech
The Enduro 300 alloy rim features the Hollow Bead Wall technology. By doubling the width of the bead edge, I9 has created a "buffer" that protects your tyres from pinch-flats during hard bottom-outs. Internally, the Hydra 2 hub now features a 65% thicker axle and larger 6903 bearings, specifically engineered to withstand the 120Nm of torque generated by modern E-Enduro bikes without sacrificing the legendary instant engagement.
The Industry Nine Hydra 2 Enduro Alloy System wheelset remains the "sweet spot" for aggressive mountain bikers and E-MTB riders. It provides the signature stiffness and custom looks of I9’s aluminium system spokes but at a more accessible price point than the carbon options.
For 2026, the big update is the transition to the Hydra 2 hub across the entire system range, bringing even faster engagement and significantly improved durability for high-torque motors.

Our Wheelbuilders' opinion:
The Enduro Alloy System is widely considered the "Goldilocks" wheelset. It is significantly more responsive and lighter than the "S-Series" (steel spoke) wheels, but it offers a more compliant and "muted" trail feel than the Carbon System wheels. For the high-torque EMtb's, the extra "give" of the alloy rim can actually provide better traction on loose, technical climbs compared to the ultra-stiff carbon alternative.
