Industry Nine Hydra 2 Enduro Carbon System Wheelset
The Hydra 2 Enduro Carbon System is engineered for the rigours of modern Enduro racing, where a wheel must be light enough for 1,500m climbing days but strong enough for EWS-level descents. This wheelset features I9's proprietary System chassis, utilizing 32 direct-thread aluminium spokes per wheel to create a highly responsive, "ping-free" ride.
The DUO Concept: Front vs Rear
Unlike standard wheelsets that use the same rim on both ends, the Hydra 2 Enduro Carbon employs the DUO Concept. The front rim is wider 32.5mm internal and features a more compliant carbon layup to maximise traction and reduce hand fatigue. The rear rim is slightly narrower 31mm internal with a reinforced, thicker layup designed to shrug off square-edge impacts and the high-torque loads of the 120Nm DJI or Bosch motors
The Industry Nine Hydra 2 Enduro Carbon System is the definitive "do-it-all" premium wheelset While the DH version is built for pure blunt-force trauma, the Enduro Carbon System focuses on the "DUO Concept"—using front and rear specific carbon layups to provide a more forgiving, compliant front wheel and a bombproof, stiff rear wheel.
Customsiation through Industry Nine's Anolab:
Because this is a System wheel, you have access to the full Ano Lab suite. Black hub and spokes is the base price default, adding colours incurs upgrade costs. Simply go to the Anolab here and build your preferred wheelset. Add it to theIndustry Nine cart and it will tell you what Level of customisation it is (level1,2 or 3 - see below).

System Wheels have 3 levels of customisation:
Level 1 - Up to 8 spokes of a different colour
Level 2 - Any colour hub (instead of standard black) and as many matching spokes as you like (i.e any mix of black and the colour that matches the hubshell
Level 3 - Any mix of colour hub and spokes you like all the way up to rainbow pattern!
Our Wheelbuilders opinion:
For most riders—even those on heavy E-bikes - the Enduro Carbon System is the superior choice over the DH version. The 100g - 150g weight saving is entirely at the rim (peripheral weight), which makes the bike feel much more alive when jumping or changing direction. The "DUO" front rim also offers significantly better "trail feel," preventing the overly harsh, "wooden" sensation that sometimes plagues 32-spoke carbon DH wheels.
