The TR35 is the newest addition to Nobl's Sinewave collection. It shares the same radical design principles as the rest of the premium line but adopts a "wide-track" philosophy. By providing a 30mm class internal width at a weight traditionally reserved for narrow XC rims, the TR35 allows you to run lower pressures and wider tyres without the usual weight penalty.
The Nobl TR35 is the quintessential "Downcountry" rim. Positioned precisely between the ultralight TR32 and the enduro-rated TR37, it is designed for the modern breed of aggressive XC and light trail bikes like the Ibis Ripley SL
In our shop, we recommend the TR35 for riders who want the wide-track traction of an enduro wheel but with the snappy, low-inertia feel of a race rim.
Front & Rear Specific Layup
The TR35 is sold as a balanced pair with distinct characteristics for each wheel:
The Front Rim (395gr): Features a 30.5mm internal width and thinner 2.5mm bead lips. This increases the tyre's air volume and allows the rim to be 25% more vertically compliant than the rear, significantly reducing hand fatigue and improving front-end "tracking."
The Rear Rim (435g): Features a slightly narrower 29.5mm internal width but increases the bead "lips" to 3.0mm. This extra carbon at the edges provides the impact protection needed to survive square-edge hits on technical descents.
The Custom "Downcountry" Spec
For a fast-trail bike, we suggest two "Shop Choice" builds for the TR35:
The "Podium Seeker": Lace the TR35 to Industry Nine Solix hubs with Berd PolyLight (Dyneema) spokes. This is the ultimate weight-weenie build, often coming in under 1350g for the set.
The "All-Day Epic": Pair with Hope Pro 5 hubs and Sapim D-Light spokes. This build is marginally heavier but offers the reliability and serviceability needed for backcountry adventures in the UK.
Performance Insight: TR35 vs. TR37?
The TR37 is a 32-spoke enduro rim built for bike parks and E-bikes. The TR35 is a 28-spoke rim built for speed. While the TR35 is incredibly tough, it is designed for a rider who is "light on the bike" and prioritises climbing efficiency. If your riding is more "wheels on the ground" fast trail riding, the TR35 is the smarter, lighter choice.
Sinewave Profile: The variable-depth "sine" shape provides massive lateral stiffness for rail-like cornering while allowing for radial flex to absorb trail chatter.
Modern "Wide" Stance: Optimized for 2.3"--2.6" tyres, squaring off the side knobs for better cornering bite.
Bead Seat Bumps: Includes small ridges inside the rim bed to "lock" the tyre bead in place, preventing burping during high-G cornering.
Raw Finished Carbon: Rims come out of the steel moulds with a permanent, raw finish. No paint means no chips and a higher strength-to-weight ratio.
Valve Support: A dedicated flat area is built into the mould to ensure a perfect, leak-free seal for the tubeless valve collar
28-Hole Exclusive: To maintain the lightweight "race" ethos, the TR32 is produced exclusively in a 28-hole drilling
