Reserve 34/37 Carbon Road Disc Wheelset – Ultimate Climbing & All-Road Performance
The 34|37 TA is built on the philosophy that a front and rear wheel serve different aerodynamic purposes. The 34mm front rim is wider and shallower to prioritize stability in gusty crosswinds, while the 37mm rear rim is narrower and deeper to maximize power transfer and aero efficiency.
Featuring a clever mixed-profile design—a shallower, wider 34mm front rim for superior stability and handling, and a taller, narrower 37mm rear rim for maximum aerodynamic efficiency and power transfer—the 34/37 model provides quick acceleration and all-road capability.
Forget compromise; these are the "No Fuss" wheels. They are designed for easy maintenance with external nipples and standard spokes, feature a semi-hooked rim for compatibility with any tyre (tube or tubeless-ready), and are backed by Reserve's renowned lifetime warranty and no-fault crash replacement policy. They are, quite simply, your go-to high-performance carbon climbing wheelset.
Evo's take:
The Reserve 34|37 Turbulent Aero (2026) is the "no-fuss" climbing wheelset designed to balance lightweight efficiency with crosswind stability. Unlike the "SL" version (which uses Tune hubs and carbon spokes), this standard Turbulent Aero (TA) model focuses on real-world serviceability and durability, utilizing traditional steel spokes and DT Swiss hubs.
For 2026, the rims have been refined to be 30g lighter than the previous generation while offering a 4g drag reduction in the wind tunnel.
The 240 Build (£2,199): Uses the Ratchet EXP system. It is roughly 60g lighter and features a wider bearing stance for increased axle stiffness. This is the choice for racers and pure weight-weenies.
The 350 Build (£1,799): Uses the classic Star Ratchet system. While slightly heavier, the 350 is the "mechanic's favourite" for its incredible durability and lower cost of replacement parts.
The "Sweet Spot": For most UK riders, the DT 350 build offers the best value. The rim performance (the "Turbulent Aero" advantage) is identical across both models—you are simply paying for a lighter hub and a faster engagement ratchet in the 240.
Turbulent Aero Technology: Developed using mapping of real-world wind turbulence rather than just laminar flow in a tunnel. This results in a wheel that feels significantly more predictable when passing large vehicles or riding in coastal winds.
Semi-Hooked Rim Profile: Reserve sticks with a semi-hooked design for 2026. This offers the best of both worlds: the aerodynamic benefits of hookless but with no tyre limitations. You can run any brand of tubeless or clincher tyre with total security.
Internal Reinforcement: The spoke holes are internally reinforced with carbon "ribs." This allows for higher spoke tensions and a lighter overall rim without the risk of the nipples pulling through the carbon.
Serviceable Build: Eschewing proprietary parts, the 34|37 uses external nipples and standard Sapim CX-Ray spokes. This means any local bike shop can true the wheel or replace a spoke in minutes without removing the tyre or rim tape.
No Weight Limits: Unlike many "climbing" wheels that cap rider weight at 90kg or 100kg, Reserve has no rider weight limit for the 34|37 TA.
Lifetime Warranty: Includes a no-fault crash replacement policy. If you break a rim while riding, Reserve replaces it for free—forever.
Hub Options: Available with either the DT Swiss 240 (Ratchet EXP) for the best weight-to-performance ratio or the DT Swiss 350 for maximum value and reliability or we can build them with DT 180 for super low weight.
Also consider the Reserve 34/37 SL TA wheelset for Tune hubs and Carbon spoke.
Fillmore Valves: These wheels ship with Reserve’s high-flow Fillmore valves, which provide 3x the airflow of a Presta valve and eliminate sealant clogging.
