Industry Nine Hydra 2 DJ System
The Hydra 2 DJ is engineered to bridge the gap between "intention and execution." Because dirt jumpers often need to generate speed in very short distances, the Hydra 2 hub’s instant engagement is a massive advantage for technical "pedal-kicks" and accelerating into lips. The wheelset is built around the DJ305 rim, which is a specialized 26" version of their gravity-rated alloy rims, offering a wide platform for high-pressure DJ tyres.
The defining feature of the DJ System is the use of 32 straight-pull aluminium spokes. Unlike traditional steel spokes that can stretch or flex under heavy rotational forces, these oversized 7075-T6 spokes create a incredibly rigid structure. This "point-and-shoot" accuracy is vital when you are navigating the tight transitions of a world-class slopestyle course or a local concrete bowl.
The Industry Nine Hydra 2 DJ (Dirt Jump) wheelset is the specialist choice for slopestyle, pump tracks, and technical street sessions. Built exclusively in a 26" diameter, it utilises Industry Nine’s signature System chassis—pairing direct-thread aluminium spokes with a reinforced alloy rim to create a wheel with almost zero lateral flex, which is essential when landing sideways or carving high-G berms

Our Wheelbuilders' opinion:
In Dirt Jumping, weight is important, but stiffness is king. Traditional steel-spoke wheels can feel "rubbery" when you are deep in a high-G berm or putting in a massive "crank-flip" effort. The Hydra 2 DJ System removes that lag. It feels incredibly solid underfoot, giving you the confidence that the wheel won't flex into your fork lowers or frame stays during a heavy sideways landing.
Hydra 2 Drive System: Delivers 870 P.O.E. (0.41-degrees) for instant power. The faster you engage, the more speed you can "pump" out of every transition.
DJ305 Alloy Rims: A 30.5mm internal width provides a massive footprint, allowing 2.1"-2.4" dirt jump tyres to sit square and resist "rolling" off the bead during high-load landings.
Proprietary System Spokes: Direct-thread spokes eliminate the nipple/rim interface, removing a common point of failure for heavy-landing dirt jumpers.
Reinforced Axle: The Hydra 2 update includes a 65% thicker axle, providing extra insurance against the shear forces of bailing or casing large jumps.
Labyrinth Seals: Reduces friction significantly, helping you maintain momentum on pump tracks where every bit of rolling speed counts
