The Industry Nine Hydra 2 Sector is engineered for the rider who values precision and weight savings on technical singletrack. By utilizing the We Are One Sector rim, this wheelset offers a unique balance of lateral stiffness and vertical compliance, ensuring the bike feels lively on climbs without being overly harsh on descents.
Convergence Rim Technology
The Sector rim features the Convergence "wavy" profile, which aligns the nipple bed with the spoke angle. This eliminates point-loading and significantly reduces the risk of spoke fatigue or rim cracking. Combined with ZRT fibre technology, the Sector rim is specifically tuned to mute trail chatter, providing a "quiet" ride feel that carbon wheels are often criticized for lacking.

The Sector is the lighter, more agile sibling to the Triad, featuring a slightly narrower rim and a layup tuned for "trail" compliance rather than "enduro" impact absorption. Like the Triad, it uses the Hydra 2 Classic hub with traditional J-bend steel spokes

Our Wheelbuilders Opinion:
The Sector is the preferred choice for riders on shorter-travel trail bikes (120mm--140mm) or those who prioritise a "light and poppy" feel. While the Triad is built to survive "Enduro" abuse, the Sector’s 28mm internal width and lighter carbon layup make it much faster to accelerate and easier to flick around on tight, twisty trails. However, because it has a lower rider weight limit (114kg), heavier riders or those on full-power e-bikes may still prefer the extra security of the Triad.
