The Solix Trail Carbon represents the pinnacle of Industry Nine's lightweight trail range. It combines the Solix M system chassis—featuring 24 straight-pull aluminium spokes—with the DUO concept carbon rims. These rims are hand-laid in Canada by We Are One Composites and are engineered with specific layups for the front and rear to balance weight, compliance, and strength.
The DUO Carbon Concept
Rather than using the same rim at both ends, the Solix Trail Carbon optimizes each wheel for its specific job:

Front: A 30mm internal width rim with a lighter carbon layup to maximize front-end traction and provide a more compliant, comfortable ride.

Rear: A 29mm internal width rim with thicker bead walls and a reinforced layup designed to withstand high-torque climbing and square-edge impacts.
The Industry Nine Solix Trail Carbon is the high-performance carbon counterpart to the alloy Solix Trail. It is specifically marketed as the ultimate "downcountry" wheelset, blending the ultra-low weight of a cross-country build with the durability and width required for modern trail riding.
Customsiation through Industry Nine's Anolab:
Because this is a System wheel, you have access to the full Ano Lab suite. Black hub and spokes is the base price default, adding colours incurs upgrade costs. Simply go to the Anolab here and build your preferred wheelset. Add it to theIndustry Nine cart and it will tell you what Level of customisation it is (level1,2 or 3 - see below).

System Wheels have 3 levels of customisation:
Level 1 - Up to 8 spokes of a different colour
Level 2 - Any colour hub (instead of standard black) and as many matching spokes as you like (i.e any mix of black and the colour) that matches the hubshell
Level 3 - Any mix of colour hub and spokes you like all the way up to rainbow pattern!
Our Wheelbuilders opinion:
Choose Solix Trail Carbon if your priority is efficiency and weight. It is significantly lighter (1470g vs. 1620g) and rolls faster, making it the better choice for big-mileage days and high-speed trail riding. Choose Hydra 2 Trail Carbon if you are a heavier or more aggressive rider. The Hydra 2 version uses 32 spokes (instead of 24) and the beefier Hydra 2 hub shell, providing a higher rider weight limit and more lateral stiffness for "smashing" through technical terrain.
