The Arma V4 is designed for one thing: winning downhill races. It lacks the "climb switch" (LOK) found on the Storia and E-Storia, as EXT’s engineers prioritised an entirely independent damping circuit for maximum traction and consistency. The V4 update introduces PSR (Position Sensitive Rebound), a hydraulic top-out system that eliminates the harsh "clack" when the shock extends fully, keeping the bike stable and predictable during successive high-speed hits.
The EXT Arma V4 is the ultimate gravity-specific coil shock. While the E-Storia is reinforced for the unique weights of e-bikes and the Storia V4 is the go-to for enduro versatility, the Arma is built for pure Downhill (DH) and Bike Park abuse.
If you are building a bike specifically for bike park laps or DH racing, the Arma V4 is your best option. By removing the climb circuit, EXT can use a larger volume of oil and more sophisticated valving to manage heat during the most aggressive runs.
The V4 update brings tool-free-adjacent adjustments and a host of internal refinements that make it the quietest and most sensitive DH shock EXT has ever produced.
Shop Note: Like all EXT shocks, the Arma V4 is custom-valved at the factory for your weight and the Rogue's i-track suspension. We will need your "Aggression Rating" (1–10), makemodel of bike, flat/clip pedal and rider weight to finalise the order.
Free mounting hardware is supplied with every shock
External Adjustable HBC: The Hydraulic Bottom-out Control now covers the final 20% of the stroke and is adjustable with a 4mm Allen key. This allows you to run a lighter spring for ultimate grip while still surviving "to-flat" landings.
4-Way Adjustment: High and Low Speed Compression (now adjusted via 5mm/4mm Allen keys), Rebound, and HBC.
Low-Friction Bladder System: The V4 replaces the traditional IFP with a large-volume bladder inflated to just 55 PSI, significantly reducing stiction and improving small-bump sensitivity.
Superlight V2 Springs: Comes with EXT’s proprietary 30% lighter steel springs, available in 25lb increments for the perfect setup.
Choose E-Storia if: You use your bike as a "do-it-all" machine. The LOK 2.0 climb switch is essential for those long fireroad climbs back to the top of the trailhead.
Choose Arma V4 if: The bike is a "gravity sled." If you mostly use uplifts or if you value the absolute highest level of traction over pedalling efficiency, the Arma’s dedicated DH valving and PSR system make it the more refined downhill tool.
