The Arma MX represents a total structural redesign. To manage the increased unsprung mass of e-moto swingarms, EXT moved to a solid machined 7075 T6 aluminium head and a 14mm chromed steel shaft—50% larger than most MTB coils. This provides the lateral stiffness required to prevent binding and shaft failure during high-speed MX-style impacts.
Standard MTB shocks are valved for 15kg bikes; the Arma MX is valved for the 120lb+ (55kg) reality of e-motos. It features a unique negative spring system inside the cover guiding to improve platform stability and prevent harsh top-outs, which are common on high-torque electric drivetrains.
The EXT Arma MX (E-MX) is a specialised evolution of the Arma platform, purpose-built for the "Lightweight Electric Moto" category. While the standard Arma V4 is a mountain bike shock, the Arma MX is designed specifically to handle the significantly higher vehicle weights and aggressive leverage ratios of e-motos like the Sur-Ron Light Bee, Talaria Sting, and E-Ride Pro SS.
It is the industry benchmark for riders who have found that traditional MTB shocks simply cannot survive the forces generated by a 50kg+ electric motorcycle
Bespoke Eyelet Design: Uses spherical bearings rather than standard DU bushings to eliminate friction caused by frame flex and swingarm twisting.
Adjustable HBC (Hydraulic Bottom-out Control): Externally adjustable to prevent bottoming out on big "sender" jumps, allowing you to run a plush spring for trail traction without fearing the "clunk."
High Flow 29mm Piston: Redesigned for the higher oil velocities of e-moto usage, ensuring the damping doesn't "choke" during successive high-speed hits.
Low Reservoir Pressure: Operating at just 55 PSI, the shock offers incredible initial sensitivity, making the bike feel "planted" over small-bump chatter.
The Weight Class: The Arma MX is designed for vehicles that weigh 50kg - 70kg. . For most e-MTB riders, the E-Storia remains the better "pedal-friendly" choice.
Spherical Bearings: The use of spherical bearings in the eyelets is a game-changer for durability. If your frame has a history of wearing out shock bushings quickly due to side-loading, the Arma MX's hardware is the permanent fix.
Spring Rates: Because of the vehicle mass, spring rates for the Arma MX usually start at 450lb for lightweight riders and can go up to 650lb for "senders."
